Kinkfolk is a funk/fusion project conceived at Musikene. The band was formed in early 2022 with the idea of composing a repertoire in said style, mainly including their own compositions combined with covers of tunes by time-honoured groups. Kinkfolk’s influences range from strictly classic grooves to more acid sounds such as Jamiroquai and Funky Knuckles, with a nod to 70s Jazz fusion through groups like the Brecker Brothers and Casiopea.
