The 53 Heineken Jazzaldia will programme nine concerts in the Skoda Space, located in Alderdi Eder, increasing by one the concerts to be given in this space compared to last year. We therefore continue the fruitful collaboration between Skoda, official car of the Heineken Jazzaldia, and the Festival.

These nine concerts, with free admission, will be given by truly excellent figures on the local (Víctor de Diego, Old School Funky Family, Sara Mansilla, Voltaia, The Disappointments, Albericola) and international (Dick Oatts, Julian Lage, Derek Brown, Trojan Sound System) scenes, grouped together under the heading “From Jazz to Soul”.

Particularly worthy of mention is the concert by Dennis Alcapone and Dawn Penn with the Trojan Sounds System, a look back at the big Jamaican hit songs which will be performed exclusively on this stage.

The same circumstance applies to Old School Funky Family, the hugely entertaining band from the French Basque Country which has audiences everywhere up and dancing.

Jazz will have an excellent representation in the Dick Oatts & Víctor de Diego Quintet, the Julian Lage Trio, The Disappointments and Albericola, in this latter case with a Cuban touch.

Derek Brown is another figure to be taken into account for the peculiar way he plays the sax, a method he has dubbed Beatbox Sax.

Young Basque talent too will have two fine ambassadors, Sara Mansilla and Voltaia.
