Since releasing her first record in 1997, entitled Anari, like her own name, she has become one of the most personal and important voices on the Basque musical scene. In a career spanning almost three decades, she has released 7 studio albums and 2 live albums: Anari (1997), Habia (2000), Zebra (2005), 2007ko Martxoaren 31ean Bilboko Kafe Antzokian (2007), Irla Izan (2009), Bidea eta Denbora (2013), Zure aurrekari penalak (2015), Epilogo bat (2016) and Giza Zarata (2024).
Although, from her earliest days, specialised critics were already saying that her musical career is one of the most important in Euskal Herria, many today also accord her a significant place in written Basque literature. She has recently published two books: Gari eta goroldiozko (2022) and Demoliciones controladas (2023).
Anari is an artist, singer, guitarrist and composer with a unique musical style that springs naturally from deep within her; she merges rock and folk, and, at the same time, is also consciously innovating and exploring sounds. The poetic depth, honesty, raw emotive power and elegance of her lyrics also stand out, as she speaks about love, solitude, sadness, beauty, identity, introspection, society, politics…
