The Pablo Maza Quartet was born in 2023. Irreverent and explosive, the group explores new sounds, paying tribute to their favourite authors. They began interpreting works by the likes of Ornette Coleman, Don Cherry and Thelonious Monk. Over the last year they have worked around the music of Lennie Tristano, Lee Konitz and Warne Marsh. This quartet always works from an innovative perspective, attaching great importance to improvisation and spontaneity, without ever losing the essence of Jazz and blues.
After several months of concerts, the group is now immersed in a creative process, trying to combine the tastes of its four members, searching for points in common among bebop, free Jazz, contemporary Jazz and traditional music.
