Velasquartet

Velasquartet is a musical project based on original compositions by Miguel Velasco. Each work sets out to share a very concrete sensation or feeling with those listening, drawing upon premeditated ideas taken from normal, day-to-day situations we can’t ignore, that are part of our common traits as human beings.

Their repertoire is characterised by a style of modern Jazz influenced by artists such as Mark Turner, Walter Smith III or Immanuel Wilkins. There also is a strong influence of musicians who have marked the history of Jazz, like John Coltrane and Wayne Shorter.

Compositions based on the belief that one of the best ways to deal with the ups-and-downs of life is through music.
