Originaire de Washington D.C. et dotée d'une voix très personnelle, Alston a développé sa vaste carrière professionnelle en alternant son activité dans le domaine du Jazz, où elle s'est produite dans un grand nombre de festivals et de clubs à travers le monde, et dans celui du théâtre musical, où elle a également démontré un talent d'actrice en plus de ses extraordinaires qualités vocales. Elle a participé à des comédies musicales sous la direction de grands maîtres tels que Leonard Bernstein qui a manifesté à de nombreuses reprises son admiration pour elle.
La chanteuse, qui s'est produite sur les cinq continents, possède une importante discographie de Jazz, incluant son album My Little Brown Book (2015) dédié aux compositions du grand Billy Strayhorn, qui a reçu un accueil extraordinaire de la part de la critique spécialisée. Quant à son activité dans le théâtre musical, son curriculum comprend des œuvres telles que Jesus Christ Superstar (A. Hailing from Washington DC and with her distinctly personal voice, Alston has developed her extensive professional career alternating her activity in the field of Jazz, taking to the stage in myriad festivals and clubs all over the world, with theatre where, apart from her extraordinary vocal skills, she has also demonstrated her talent as an actress, working in musicals under the direction of great masters such as Leonard Bernstein, who made his admiration for Alston plain on numerous occasions.

The singer, who has performed on all five continents, has an impressive list of Jazz recordings to her name, particularly including her album My Little Brown Book (2015) dedicated to the compositions of the great Billy Strayhorn, released to extraordinary acclaim from the specialised critics. As far as her activity in musical theatre is concerned, on her curriculum we can find famous hits including Jesus Christ Superstar (A. Alston combines her singing activities with teaching and is head of Jazz Performance at the Jazz Institute & University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich.
