Mulatu Astatke, who received the Donostiako Jazzaldia Award, turned out a marvellous concert for the thousands of people (8.000) who had flocked to the Keler Gunea beach stage:
Yesterday’s programme of concerts on the Keler Gunea stage was brought to a close by Curtis Harding (7.000).
The first of the five concerts running this year in the Kursaal Auditorioa was given by Calexico, who presented their latest album and played many of their earlier songs before a delighted audience (1.710).
On the other hand, the eighth edition of JazzEñe kicked off at the Victoria Eugenia Theatre with the performances of Oreka TX and Chico Pérez. You can watch the full concerts again here:
Vadim Neselovskyi gave the first of the solo piano concerts at the Škoda San Telmo Museoa (69). The profits from this concert will go to the Chernobil Elkartea to help the people of Ukraine:
The 10th Txikijazz also opened its doors. The International Classic Jazz All Stars at the Kutxa Kultur and Arima Soul in Garbera. And there were workshops and activities:
We also had the opportunity to enjoy Sharon Clark, Atrisma, The International Classic Jazz All Stars and the Carla Sevilla 5tet on the Frigo Gunea and Fnac Gunea stages (4.200).
In Garbera, the Broken Brothers Brass Band pepped up the atmosphere with their boundless energy, getting everyone up to dance:
