Iñar Sastre (piano) Having completed his studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris, Iñar Sastre turned to pop, Jazz and classical music. He has performed in theatres including New York’s Carnegie Hall and the Berlin Philharmonic. As a creative pianist, he works assiduously in the performing arts while also composing for audiovisuals. He has received awards including the Laboa Cátedra and Musika Bulegoa. Paul San Martin (piano, vocals), Fran Serrano (double bass) Paul San Martín excels in the field of Blues and Boogie Woogie, while Fran Serrano is more of a jazzhead. Together they have drawn on their long careers and undeniable experience to find a common space, a meeting ground. Nacho Soto (piano), Jon Carranza (double bass), Hilario Rodeiro (drums) The Nacho Soto Trío is a project fronted by the pianist and composer lending his name to the threesome, born from the need to express his personal voice and approach to music through original pieces referring to the scenes and characters in his life. Completing the trio are the double bassist Jon Carranza and the drummer Hilario Rodeiro, who join the pianist in making this music their own, maturing it in an ongoing dialogue full of ideas transpiring from their different points of view. The result is music drawing on contemporary Jazz and the big classical composers, with a free spirit and enormous expressiveness taking the listener into a deeply emotional and reflexive world. Fernando Calvo (guitars), Alberto Bosch (bass, vocals), Iñigo Elena (vocals), Adrián Viñas (drums) Motelas Formed in the early 2020s, this quartet from San Sebastián is made up of experienced musicians, all former members of widely known bands playing multiple styles, always influenced by the blues, Americana and traditional rock. Powerful sound bases and compositions with harmonic lines and familiar textures for lovers of music produced by live guitars and impressive rhythm sections. Their first album, Sunset Tapes (2022), was made in a single take, at Aitor Carrasquedo’s mobile studio, a live and well-rounded recording. Philippe Huet, the founder, music director and sax player of Les 4 Saxes & Co, created the group with a fellow musician in the Paris of the 1990s and 2000s. Having lived since 2017 in the region of Bayonne, he resuscitated the project with local musician friends attracted by his music. This selection is especially backed by Gipuzkoa Provincial Council as part of the Katapulta Tour Gipuzkoa circuit to promote young local talents in the field of music and the performing arts while fostering the Gipuzkoa scene by providing support to clubs and organisers.
