Paul San Martin (piano, vocals), Fran Serrano (double bass) Paul San Martín excels in the field of Blues and Boogie Woogie, while Fran Serrano is more of a jazzhead. Together they have drawn on their long careers and undeniable experience to find a common space, a meeting ground. Having met while accompanying the singer from Alava, Itziar Yagüe, the two musicians hit it off immediately and now, at last, set out on this interesting project following the path of Jazz tradition yet with its origins in the Blues.   *Kutxa Fundazioa Kluba: tickets available here - €3 for early purchases, and €5 from the ticket desk.   Logotipo txikia_Katapulta Tour Gipuzkoa [post_title] => Paul San Martin y Fran Serrano Dúo [post_excerpt] => [post_status] => publish [comment_status] => closed [ping_status] => open [post_password] => [post_name] => paul-san-martin-y-fran-serrano-duo-2 [to_ping] => [pinged] => [post_modified] => 2024-01-10 17:32:10 [post_modified_gmt] => 2024-01-10 16:32:10 [post_content_filtered] => [post_parent] => 0 [guid] => https://jazzaldia.eus/?post_type=artist&p=35419 [menu_order] => 0 [post_type] => artist [post_mime_type] => [comment_count] => 0 [filter] => raw ) [2] => WP_Post Object ( [ID] => 35452 [post_author] => 2 [post_date] => 2024-01-11 11:00:26 [post_date_gmt] => 2024-01-11 10:00:26 [post_content] =>

Nacho Soto (piano), Jon Carranza (double bass), Hilario Rodeiro (drums) The Nacho Soto Trío is a project fronted by the pianist and composer lending his name to the threesome, born from the need to express his personal voice and approach to music through original pieces referring to the scenes and characters in his life. Completing the trio are the double bassist Jon Carranza and the drummer Hilario Rodeiro, who join the pianist in making this music their own, maturing it in an ongoing dialogue full of ideas transpiring from their different points of view. The result is music drawing on contemporary Jazz and the big classical composers, with a free spirit and enormous expressiveness taking the listener into a deeply emotional and reflexive world. They are currently working on their first album, penned for release in 2024.   *Kutxa Fundazioa Kluba: tickets available here - €3 for early purchases, and €5 from the ticket desk. Foto Web Jazzaldia 900x500 Motelas

Fernando Calvo (guitars), Alberto Bosch (bass, vocals), Iñigo Elena (vocals), Adrián Viñas (drums) Motelas Formed in the early 2020s, this quartet from San Sebastián is made up of experienced musicians, all former members of widely known bands playing multiple styles, always influenced by the blues, Americana and traditional rock. Powerful sound bases and compositions with harmonic lines and familiar textures for lovers of music produced by live guitars and impressive rhythm sections. Their first album, Sunset Tapes (2022), was made in a single take, at Aitor Carrasquedo’s mobile studio, a live and well-rounded recording. Their second, Rainbow Tapes (2023), repeated the same formula. The result is a work brimming with poetry and guitars, a structured and truly American album, yet with the stamp of a band who have understood that the very essence of that music almost always means staying off the main roads.   *Kutxa Fundazioa Kluba: tickets available here - €3 for early purchases, and €5 from the ticket desk. Baptiste Annette (alto sax), Philippe Huet (alto sax), David Arriola (tenor sax), Stéphane Barbier (tenor sax), Yves Dinclaux (trumpet/bugle), Arnaud Labastie (piano), Jean-Xavier Herman (double bass), Antoine Gastinel (drums), Gilles Garcia (guitar), Pauline Atlan (vocals) The 10 musicians of Les 4 Saxes & Co are mad about Swing, played in the style of the Jazz-swing of the 30s by 4 formidable saxes backed by an impeccable rhythm section, all rounded off thanks to a brilliant trumpet player and perfected by an exceptional voice, that of Ninon Arozteguy, in the tradition of singers like Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday and Dinah Washington... Philippe Huet, the founder, music director and sax player of Les 4 Saxes & Co, created the group with a fellow musician in the Paris of the 1990s and 2000s. Having lived since 2017 in the region of Bayonne, he resuscitated the project with local musician friends attracted by his music. In this new period, Huet has updated the repertoire and written new arrangements, adding a young voice to the group and recording an album in 2022.   *Kutxa Fundazioa Kluba: tickets available here - €3 for early purchases, and €5 from the ticket desk.
