The Ukrainian pianist Vadim Neselovskyi will perform at the 57th Jazzaldia on 20 and 21 July presenting his project Odessa Suite. Tickets for the first of the two concerts taking place at the Chillida Leku Museum as a pre-Festival event, on 20 July, are now on sale. Tickets for the second concert will go on sale during the month of April. A pianist of enormous virtuosity and versatility, composer and improviser, leader of his own bands and valued collaborator, the artist from Ukraine creates pieces of strong personal style, hugely inventive and full of unexpected moments in unique music overflowing with inspiration. In his latest project, Odessa Suite, Neselovskyi tells us about his personal history and relationship with this Ukrainian city as he takes us on an imaginary tour. Both of the performances given by Vadim Neselovskyi will be fundraising concerts for the people of Ukraine. All proceeds will therefore go to the Chernobil Elkartea Association which has been working since 1996 with the boys and girls of the zone affected by the nuclear disaster and which is also now involved in helping to alleviate the devastating effects of this terrible war. The 57th San Sebastian Jazz Festival, to run from 21-25 July, now has its poster, created by the illustrator, actress and cultural manager Ane Pikaza.

The poster, entitled Jazzaldiaren Besarkada (The Embrace of Jazzaldia), takes its inspiration from the relationship between music and the city. From Igeldo to Urgull, the Concha Bay frames this piece providing the backdrop for that embrace from the world of Jazz. A colourist proposal reflecting the atmosphere and spirit experienced during the Jazzaldia every year, turning San Sebastian into a radiant city, full of live music. Ane Pikaza: Actress, Bachelor of Fine Arts and Diploma in Dramatic Art, Ane completed her studies with the speciality Theatre and Performing Arts and a Master’s Degree in Cultural Management from the UOC (Open University of Catalunya). She combines her work as an illustrator, actress and cultural manager. Outstanding among her productions as an illustrator are the posters for Zinegoak, Zinemakumeak, Durangoko Azoka and illustrations for the books Gomutan and Begiak Zerumugan. She has also created the illustrations for the film Nora, in which she plays the lead role, the Fatxada project at the Azkuna Zentroa and the video game Los ríos de Alice by Vetusta Morla, as well as visual work for the theatre. In addition to all of the above is a long career of producing posters for theatre and festivals, exhibitions, book covers and collaborations with magazines. She currently features on the cast of the plays Yerma and Altsasu by La Dramática Errante, a company created with María Goiricelaya, with whom she also co-directs the Olite Theatre Festival.
